NestOfSalt wins SUNDAY NIGHT H.O.R.S.E. for second time

The January 24th edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew a paltry 100 players, leaving an overlay of $10,000 for players. Top prize was $9,000 with sixteen players paid. Two Full Tilt Poker Red pros made the money and one was the unfortunate bubble. S Gromenkova finished on the bubble in 17th. Cyndy Violette finished in 14th and Diego Cordovez fell just short of the final table, finishing in 10th.

Final Table 1-24

Former champion NestofSalt was among those at the final table. Maxinlv, tengiz1313, and The Prescott all made the final table as well. The following were the final 8:

maxinlv

The Prescott

SoftJoe

cane3418

LunisticTweak

NestOfSalt

kyct1969

tengiz1313

tengiz1313 8th

Tengiz1313 was the first player eliminated from the final table. He was all-in during a Stud Hi-lo round with a pair of jacks showing. Maxinlv made the call with split aces and eventually made aces up by the river. Tengiz1313 could not outdraw and was knocked out in 8th.

cane3418 7th

Cane3418 was the next knocked out during Stud 8. Cane3418 was all-in with A-2-3 and was called by NestOfSalt with buried aces. By fifth, NestOfSalt caught trip aces but cane3418 had a seven low draw. The river gave cane3418 a ten and NestOfSalt a scoop. Cane3418 was eliminated in 7th.

LunisticTweak 5th

Maxinlv was eliminated in 6th place and shortly thereafter, LunisticTweak was all-in during Omaha. The Prescott made the call and turned broadway on the turn. LunisticTweak could not catch a broadway of his own and was out in 5th place.

SoftJoe 4th

SoftJoe was all-in during Razz on fourth with 7-4-3-2 and was called by the 7-3-2-2 of The Prescott. SoftJoe caught a queen on fifth to make a queen and The Prescott caught a four to pick up a seven draw. SoftJoe caught a king on sixth and The Prescott double paired. The river fell an eight for SoftJoe and an ace for The Prescott. The Prescott’s seven sent SoftJoe and his eight to the rail in 4th.

kyct1969 3rd

Kyct1969 was the third player to fall during the Razz round. He was all-in on 6th with an 9 low with a redraw to an 8-7. Unfortunately, he was drawing dead as The Prescott had an 8-5 low made. The river gave kyct1969 his eight, but it was 2nd best. As a result, we were heads-up.
Heading into heads-up play, The Prescott held a 172,813 to 127,187 lead over NestOfSalt. NestofSalt turned things around during Stud, taking two large pots in three hands to take the chip lead. The final hand occurred during Stud Hi-lo.

NestOfSalt wins 2nd Sunday Night HORSE title
The Prescott moved all0in with A-7-4-Q and was called by NestOfSalt with 7-6-6-4. Fifth gave NestOfSalt two pair and ThePrescott needed running pairs to win the hand. Sixth street failed to bring a pair and he was drawing dead. Seventh street gave NestOfSalt two pair with a seven low and the title.

This is the second Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. title for NestOfSalt. He took home $9,000 for first place.

Esther Rossi wins SUNDAY NIGHT H.O.R.S.E.

The January 17th edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. saw an increased turnout and an ending that we have not seen for a long time. 143 players turned out to take part in the weekly mixed event, and the top prize was the customary $9,000.
Cyndy Violette led the red pro contingent that included Jon Turner, WSOP H.O.R.S.E. bracelet winner Jens Voertman, Jon Turner, and Esther Rossi. Horryclutch and Bryan Micon both made deep runs in the event, finishing 18th and 11th respectively. Esther Rossi was the only red pro to make the money as she led a group of eight into the final table that included final tablist from last week, Zacpacker. The following were the final eight players:

Esther Rossi

Zacpacker

SENORSCOOP

maxinlv

sngkid

AmazingChase

acatlover

–sc–

--sc-- eliminated in 6th

Maxinlv and SENORSCOOP were the first two players eliminated from the final table, but we failed to catch the action. –sc– was down to his final 11k during razz and put it all-in on third with 8-7-3. Unfortunately for him, sngkid woke up with 6-4-2. –sc– made his eight, but sngkid made a seven low and –sc– hit the bricks in 6th.

AmazingChase 5th

AmazingChase was involved in a 100k pot against Esther Rossi and eventually was all-in with a pair of split eights. Rossi had a pair of jacks. By the river, AmazingChase made eights-up, but Rossi improved to jacks-up, sending AmazingChase home in 5th.

sngkid 4th

The sngkid was all-in a short time later on fifth street with a pair of fives and a flush draw. Acatlover held trip sixes. The turn and river brought no help for the sngkid and acatlover improved to sixes full. Sngkid was out in 4th.

Zacpacker out in 3rd

Zacpacker got stubborn with a pair of threes and it cost him. Down to just 30k, he ran with those threes but was far behind the split aces of acatlover. Zacpacker never improved and finished in 3rd.

Heads-up play started with Esther Rossi behind to acatlover. A deal was never even hinted at as the two players seemed determined to play it out. Rossi was down to around 100,000 in chips before she started storming back. Eventually, she took the chip lead with some inspired stud play. She finally got acatlover all-in during Stud 8. By fifth, acatlover was all-in with split queens and Rossi had started with buried fours and improved to trip fours by fifth. Acatlover needed either a queen or some type of running full house to win the hand. Sadly, he only caught running jacks and his two pair was no match for Rossi’s trip fours. As a result, Esther Rossi is this week’s winner of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E..

Esther Rossi Wins Sunday Night HORSE
For the first time since we have covered this event on this site, a Full Tilt Poker red pro has won Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.. Rossi held the lead in the tournament for a good portion of the day and held the chip lead for a good portion of the final table. Heads-up, she allowed her ability in stud to take over and just crushed acatlover heads-up. She wins bragging rights for the week and the $9,000 top prize.

BrandonPL wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.

With many players and pros at the PCA in the Bahamas, Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. on January 10th drew a paltry 113 players. For those that showed up, they were treated with a $7,300 overlay and the top prize was $9,000.
Cyndi Violette was among the five Full Tilt Poker red pros that showed up but none made the money. Sixteen players made the money and BrandonPL entered the final table as the chip leader. This is how the final 8 players started the final table:

Final Table 1-10

Samuel Berg 26,629

BrandonPL 69,746

CompleteDonk 23,952

Dr_Bump 35,950

Tapp that Ace 51,479

Kwob29 35,306

Dainiux 50,181

TurnRiva 45,757

CompleteDonk 8th
CompleteDonk was the first knocked out. After three-betting pre-flop, the rest of his chips went into the pot on the turn with the board reading Kd-Qs-Qd-3d. TurnRiva made the call and showed Ac-Kd for top two pair. CompleteDonk showed Ah-4s for complete air. The river was a blank and CompleteDonk was eliminated.

Dr_Bump 7th

Dr_Bump was all-in during Omaha 8 for his last 2,900 pre-flop. Samuel Berg and BrandonPL played out the pot to the river. At the river, Berg held the low and BrandonPL a straight. Dr_Bump couldn’t beat either hand and was bumped off of the final table.

kwob20 eliminated in 6th

Kwob20 was the next to fall during razz. He put the last of his chips in on fourth street with a draw to a jack and was behind to TurnRiva, who was drawing to the wheel. Fifth gave Kwob20 a jack low, but TurnRiva caught an eight for an eight low. Kwob20 could only redraw to a nine at best and was drawing dead.

Tapp that Ace 5th

Tapp that Ace was eliminated a bit later during razz. He had the last of his chip in on fifth and was called by both TurnRiva and Dainiux. TurnRiva bet out Dainiux on sixth and revealed a six low. Tapp that Ace held a jack and was drawing dead, eliminated in 5th place.
Dainiux was knocked out during the stud high round. BrandonPL three-bet on third and Dainiux called. BrandonPL bet out on fourth and fifth, but on sixth, BrandonPL checked to Dainiux when he caught a pair.
Dainiux 4th
Dainiux bet out and was called. At the river, BrandonPL check-raised Dainiux to put him all-in. Dainiux called and then mucked when BrandonPL showed broadway. Dainiux finished in 4th.

Samuel Berg 3rd
Samuel Berg got a little too frisky during Holdem and it cost him his tournament life. He raised pre-flop and then called a three-bet from BrandonPL. Berg called a bet on a flop of 4h-3h-Ac and then called a bet on the turn 3c that put him all-in. BrandonPL held Ad-7h for top pair and Berg held Qc-Jc for a flush draw. The river fell the 8d and we were heads-up.
A deal was briefly discussed between the two players, but with TurnRiva holding only 49,748 in chips against the 289,252 of BrandonPL, he only would gain $400 by taking the deal. He asked if BrandonPL would give him an extra $1,000 to walk and was politely declined.
BrandonPL wins Sunday Night HORSE
Heads-up play only lasted one hand past the deal discussion. Action was capped pre-flop and then on a flop of Qc-7d-2d, TurnRiva raised all-in with Js-7s. He was ahead of the Ac-Jh of BrandonPL. The turn fell the 3d, missing both players, but the river fell the As to give BrandonPL a pair of aces and the title.

BrandonPL finished the final table the way he started, as the chip leader. He took home the $9,000 top prize and bragging rights for the week. Congratulations.
