Kevin MacPhee wins the Full Tilt Sunday Night H.o.r.s.e.

After a two month absence due to the World Series of Poker, we have returned to bring you all the weekly action for Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.. The July 25th edition of Sunday Night HORSE drew out a crowd of 138 players looking to take down the weekly $30,000 guarantee. Since the guarantee was again not met, the standard 16 players were paid with $9,000 going to first place.

Artie Cobb, Stu Paterson, and Cyndy Violette were the headliners among the red pros in the field. Stu Paterson was the only red pro to cash, and he made the final table. More on that in a bit. Theman2892 fell short of a payday and was our bubble boy for this event. We had four strong players among the 16 that cashed in this event, and all of them made the final table.

Stu Paterson was the headliner at this final table. Joining him was Ryon Nicholson “7cardRyoff” , Kevin MacPhee screen name “Wu_Wizard”, and ComptonMasta. Here are how the final eight players of this event started in chips:

yeurmine 41,749

Ryon Nicholson “7cardRyoff” 34,130

Kevin “Wu_Wizard” MacPhee 144,607

ComptonMasta 30,744

Stuart Paterson 37,916

elanor 42,238

UhhMee 18,684

jhksauser 63,932

Stu Paterson made the final table of this event, but unfortunately he could not capitalize on his final table run with a win. Even worse still, he actually was the first person out from this final table. He was knocked down to 5,666 and put all those chips at risk during Omaha with Ad-3d-Kc-10h. He called a raise from Ryon Nicholson who was holding Ah-2c-6d-6c. The flop gave Nicholson both a flush draw and nut low draw. The turn briefly put Paterson in the lead when it fell the 10s. The river then fell the 9c to give Nicholson his flush and send Paterson out in 8th.

Nicholson couldn’t get much else going and was down to about 8k in chips during Stud Hi. He called a raise from Kevin MacPhee all-in on third street with just a six showing. Yeurmine also called the raise. MacPhee then bet fourth and fifth street with yeurmine calling. Sixth street was checked around and then yeurmine called one final bet on the river. MacPhee showed a jack high straight, and that was good enough to beat both yeurmine and Nicholson. Ryon Nicholson finished in 7th place.

ComptonMasta and MacPhee capped the betting on third with ComptonMasta showing a 10 and MacPhee showing a jack. ComptonMasta then got the rest of his chips in on fourth and said “gg gl” before MacPhee showed his pair of jacks. ComptonMasta showed a pair of tens. ComptonMasta improved to tens-up on sixth, but MacPhee caught a third jack. That wound up being good enough to send ComptonMasta out in 6th place.

Yeurmine was down to 20k during the Holdem round and put them at risk pre-flop with A-7 against the K-3 of Kevin MacPhee. MacPhee caught a king on the flop and it was enough to send yeurmine out in 5th place.

Six hands later, elanor put half of her 50k stack in pre-flop against UhhMee. She then got the rest of her stack in on a flop of J-9-4 holding K-Q for a gutshot draw. She was behind the A-8 of UhhMee. The turn and river missed both players, and Elanor was out in 4th place.

Five hand later, one of the biggest pots of the tournament went down between UhhMee and jhksauser. UhhMee raised pre-flop and jhksauser made the call. The flop fell Ad-Kh-8c and jhksauser checked. UhhMee bet and jhksauser raised. UhhMee called to see a turn of the 6c. Betting was capped between the two players on the turn with UhhMee having 11k behind. The river fell the 5d and jhksauser bet 16k, enough to put UhhMee all-in. He made the call and jhksauser showed Ah-8h for a flopped two pair. UhhMee mucked and was out in third place.

At the start of heads-up play jhksauser held a 223,970 to 190,030 chip lead over Kevin MacPhee. On the very first hand, jhksauser took a dominating chip lead after rivering a flush. He led 359k to just 54k at this point. MacPhee did not give up and survived a series of all-ins to stay alive and get back up to 132k at the start of Omaha.

During the Omaha round, MacPhee took over. Everything that could go right did, and he took over the chip lead in a few short hands. Jhksauser was then crippled after he attempted to bluff into a board of Ah-5c-10c-Ks-Qc. MacPhee three-bet after a raise from jhksauser. Jhksauser must have had his hand in the cookie jar as he then folded to the three-bet.

A couple of chopped all-in pots occurred between the two before the final hand went down. Jhksauser put his last 36,760 in pre-flop with 2-3-3-4 and was called by the J-7-5-3 of MacPhee. A jack on the flop of 6-J-6 put MacPhee in the lead. A seven on the turn gave MacPhee two pair, but now jhksauser could catch a low or a straight. The river fell the Qh and Kevin MacPhee is our champion.

Kevin MacPhee is no stranger to mixed game success. He just came off a successful summer at the WSOP with a final table in the $2,500 HA Event as well as cashes in the $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo, the $1,500 PL Omaha Hi-Lo Event, and the $10,000 Main Event. While most of those finishes earned him more than tonight’s prize of $9,000, all of those finishes were short of first place. In this case he came out the victor, at least for this week.

2the916k wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.

The May 16th edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. has a smaller than normal crowd of 125 runners looking to take down the largest weekly HORSE tourney on Full Tilt Poker. The prize pool was the typical $30,000 with $9,000 going to first place.

Final Table 5-16-2010

Only six Full Tilt Poker red pros took part in the event with Diego Cordovez being the only player to finish in the money. Cordovez finished in 13th. The other notable to finish in the money but not make the final table was Kevin “kice32” Iacofano who finished in 11th place. Dainiux and Kaluminati both returned to the final table this week but it was Zeta Beta Zeta that was chip leader heading into the final table. This is how the final eight players stacked up:

Pnutbrain 27,732
Dainiux 48,315
JoaoMATHIAS 24,526
The witt 72,509
Indariva 9,040
Zeta Beta Zeta 101,484
Kaluminati 40,008
2the916k 51,386

pnutbrain 8th

Pnutbrain lost about half of his stack in the first hand of the final table. He then decided to commit his last 11k in chips the very next hand during Razz. He was all-in on fifth street holding 8-8-4-3-A and faced a made eight-six from Zeta Beta Zeta. Pnutbrain made an 8-7 low on sixth, but needed to improve in order to outdraw Zeta Beta Zeta. The river brought pnutbrain a queen and he was out in 8th place.

indariva 7th

Indariva managed a couple of double-ups to survive, but still wound up finishing in 7th. He put his stack at risk on third street of Stud with split queens and ran into the split kings of Kaluminati. Indariva failed to improve and Kaluminati improved to kings-up to send indariva out in 7th.

joaoMATHIAS 6TH

Heading into Stud Hi-Lo with bets of 6k and 12k, joaoMATHIAS held a 36k stack. He picked up split aces and decided to go to war with the hand. 2the916k picked up split fours with an eight and picked up trip fours by fifth street. JoaoMATHIAS was all-in by 5th with the split aces he started with. On sixth, he picked up a flush draw, but was drawing dead on the river when 2the916k filled up. JoaoMATHIAS was out in 6th place.

Zeta Beta Zeta 5th

A few hands later Zeta Beta Zeta was all-in on sixth street with eights-up and an eight low draw. 2the916k called with a made eight –low and a flush draw. 2the916k hit his flush draw on the river and Zeta Beta Zeta failed to improve to finish in 5th place.

Kaluminati out in 4th

The very next hand, Kaluminati bet every street to sixth street with a lone ace. On sixth, he picked up a pair of kings and moved all-in. Unfortunately for him, the witt caught trip threes on sixth. The river failed to bring Kaluminati another king and he finished in 4th place.

Dainiux out 3rd

Dainiux was down to 22k during Holdem and put 16k of that in the pot pre-flop. He then moved all-in on a flop of Ac-8d-6s holding just K-Q. 2the916k flopped a pair of sixes with his 6-5 and made the call. The turn brough a pair of eights on board and a river king, queen, or ace would give Dainiux the pot. The river fell the 9h and Dainiux was out in 3rd.

At the start of heads-up play, 2the916k held a 210,155 to 164,845 chip lead over the witt. The two decided to chop the prize money and leave $1,000 to play for. 2the916k took $7,163.49 and the witt $6,836.51 in the chop. Heads-up play continued for a while following with both players holding the chip lead at some point. Finally, the witt was ground down to his last 8k in chips during Omaha 8 or better and they all went in for the blinds. The final hand saw the witt holding Kh-Ks-Qd-Jd against the Kd-Qh-Js-8c for 2the916k. The flop brought 2the916k a pair of jacks and the turn gave him jacks-up. The river failed to improve the witt and 2the916k became our champion.

Deal 5-16

After the chop, 2the916k took home $8,163.49 and the coveted Sunday Night HORSE title. He started third in chips and stayed near the top of the leader board the entire final table. When it mattered, he took charge and took down the title. Congratulations to 2the916k, Sunday Night HORSE champion.

Dr_Bump wins Full Tilt Poker Sunday Night Horse

The May 3rd edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.drew a smaller than normal crowd of 135 player. The prize pool was the normal $30,000 with $9,000 scheduled to go to first place. Several red pros strong in mixed games took a seat in this one including Gavin Smith, Kristy Gazes, S Gromenkova, Scott Clements, and Thomas Bihl.

Marching towards the money, several strong players just fell short of a payday. Allie Prescott finished in 22nd, Aaron Bartley in 20th, dfunks222 in 19th, and TurnRiva in 18th. INTERCEPTOR was hanging around the bottom of the field with four players out of the money, but he managed to cash and finish in 14th. Grrrrmonsta finished in 13th. Thomas Bihl was the only red pro to cash, finishing in 11th lace.

JustinVold made the final table of this event for the 2nd week in a row. Dr_Bump made a return visit to the final, having last gotten here in January. However, it was vengven that entered the final table as chip leader. This is how the final eight started play:

bakku-shan 82,411

phat_cat1 54,092

Barouki Jr 22,805

Dr_Bump 45,184

vengven 84,032

vince vegas1 51,925

MFoti 49,347

JustinVold 15,204

Barouki Jr 8th

It took a few hands to lose our first player. During Omaha, Dr_Bump raised to 6,000 and Barouki Jr and bakku-shan both made the call. On a Js-9s-Jh flop, action was checked to Dr_Bump, who bet out 3k. Barouki Jr had only 3,791 and moved all-in. Both bakku-shan and Dr_Bump made the call. The turn and river both fell queens and action was checked around on both streets. At showdown, Barouki Jr showed Ac-Ad-7d-2d for aces-up. Bakku-shan mucked and Dr_Bump showed Ah-5h-Jd-8d for trip jacks. Barouki Jr finished in 8th place.

JustinVold 7th

A while later during Razz, JustinVold was down to just 3,804 and called all-in a completion from Dr_Bump. JustinVold was showing a deuce and Dr_Bump a five. MFoti made the call as well with a six up. MFoti caught a four on fourth and bet out and received a call from Dr_Bump who caught a nine. JustinVold caught a four. On fifth, MFoti caught a five and bet out again. Although he caught a six, Dr_Bump elected to fold. JustinVold was actually drawing dead at this point as he held two pair, nines and fours, with a deuce. MFoti already had a made eight. While he didn’t need the improvement, he finished with a six and JustinVold was out in 7th place. Last week JustinVold finished 4th in this event. Not a bad couple of weeks work.

vince vegas1 6th

Later during the Razz round, vince vegas was down to just over 3k and was all-in for less than the completion from bakku-shan. Mfoti called along as well. Bakk-shan caught bad on fourth and Mfoti bet him out holding 9-6-5-4. He was well ahead of the Q-J-A-3 of vince vegas. Mfoti made a nine in five to a queen from vince vegas1. On sixth, vince vegas1 had outs an eight to outdraw MFoti, but the river brought him a jack and vince vegas finished in 6th.

MFoti 5th

The river was cruel to MFoti during Stud. He started the hand with 50,269 and was dealt split aces with a king. He and vengven capped the betting on third with vengven showing an ace as well. MFoti check-called bets from vengven on fourth and fifth. However, on sixth MFoti check-raised all-in for his last 14k. Vengven made the call and MFoti discovered that both players started with split aces with a king. Vengven was actually behind at this point. MFoti had a queen kicker to his aces with king and vengven had a ten kicker. However, he did have a flush draw as well. The river was a disaster for MFoti. He missed on the river and vengven caught a king to make kings-up, take down a 105k pot, and knock out MFoti in 5th place.

bakku-shan 4th

phat_cat1 3rd

Bakku-shan got hyper aggressive with split sevens during Stud and it cost him. He raised on third after phat_cat1 completed with an ace. Phat_cat then check-called a bet on fourth. On fifth, phat_cat decided to check raise and bakku-shan decided to move all-in. Bakku-shan held split sevens with J-9-6. Phat_cat1 held split aces with J-6-5. Neither player improved their hand and bakku-shan was out in 3rd.

Phat_cat took a bit of a cooler to end his tourney. Vengven, Dr_Bump, and phat-cat1 all limped in on third during Stud 8. On fourth, Dr_Bump bet out 6k and both his opponents made the call. On fifth, phat_cat1 caught an open pair but checked. It was likely due to vengven showing three low cards on board. Action was checked around, and then action was again checked around on sixth. At the river, phat_cat1 decided to bet out 12k. Vengven raised to 24k and Dr_Bump laid it down. Phat_cat only had 19,233 left and decided to put the rest of his chips in. Vengven made the call. Phat_cat1 showed A-K-2 for deuces-full. Unfortunately for him, vengven showed 10-10-4 in the hole for tens-full and we were heads-up.

Dr_Bump Wins Sunday Night HORSE

Vengven started heads-up play up 240k to the 164k of Dr_Bump. Vengven offered an even chop but Dr_Bump only wanted to do so if he was in the lead so he could get the win. Vengven offered to chop and leave 1k to play for, but this didn’t seem to interest Dr_Bump. Play continued until Dr_Bump squeaked into the chip lead. Once there, he instantly wanted to do a deal but at first didn’t appear to want to do an even chop. Vengven rejected a couple of lopsided deals. Dr_Bump attempted to setup a chop leaving 1k to play for but was unable to work out how to setup the 1k to play for. Finally, he decided to do the even chop and both players instantly accepted. Both players walked away with $7,000 and the tournament was over.

Dr_Bump officially walks away the winner of Sunday Night HORSE after a strong final table run. He started the final 6th in chips but was able to chip up to make it heads-up and walk away the winner. Congratulations.
