148 of the world’s most elite players entered the $50K World Championship H.o.r.s.e. event. Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, and Andy Bloch were some of the players to make the money, but finish before the final table. The final 8 players who made it were:

Barry Greenstein had ( 4 A A 10 4 ) but could not improve his two pair, Aces and fours, and was out in 6th place.

Michael DeMichele scooped the high and low pots, sending Lyle Berman out in 5th place

After Scotty Nguyen raised, Matt Glantz called from the big blind.

Matt Glantz had ( K J 10 10 ) for a pair of kings and no low, leaving the tournament in 4th place
Erick Lindgren Eliminated in 3rd Place ($781,440)

Lindgren was eventually all in with ( A 8 8 )

Lindgren could not improve his pair of eights against Nguyen’s nines and was out in 3rd place
Michael DeMichele Eliminated in 2nd Place ($1,243,200)

After Scotty Nguyen started with a huge chip advantage against Michael Demichele, the two would face their last hand in Holdem when DeMichele finally commited his entire stack preflop.

Scotty Nguyen is a famous poker player who won the WSOP main event in 1999 and has over $7 million in tournament earnings. It took over 13 hours before Scotty would triumph and make up for last year’s main event shortcoming. For winning this prestigious event, Scotty would capture his 5th bracelet and take home $1.9 million dollars.
