Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. event at Full Tilt 3/15/09
The Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. event kicked off Sunday night with 193 players ponying up the $216 buy-in. 24 places were paid in the event, with the winner walking away with a cool $10,615.
Several Full Tilt Poker pros turned out to take their shot at this title. Chris Ferguson, Jon Turner, Keith Sexton, Kristy Gazes, Michael Craig, Paul Sexton, Stuart Patterson, and Cyndy Violette were among those in the field. Other notables at the tables were Matt Stout aka “All In at 420” and Thayer Rasmussen aka “THAY3R”.
Amazingly, none of the Full Tilt pros or notable players made the money of this event. Stuart Patterson was the last Full Tilt pro to fall in 46th place. Matt Stout went out in 35th got all of his money in on a Jack high flop in an Omaha 8 hand that missed. “Skogsbarn” was the bubble boy of the event.
Stamdogg 83,628
FlyingCBar 172,076
Merksick 53,200
Deanwinchester9 123,636
TurnRiva 10,343
Cane3418 100,828
YouGotLeveled 12,626
Goldfishman7 22,664
The very first hand of the final table there was a massive four way pot between FLYINGCBAR, Stamdogg, cane3418, and TurnRiva. By the end of the hand, both TurnRiva and Stamdogg were all in. There were three total pots. The first side pot between cane3418 and FLYINGCBAR was split with cane3418 showing an 8-low and FLYINGCBAR showing jacks full. The other two side pots were split between Keven Stammen aka Stamdogg and FLYINGCBAR. Stamdogg held a 7-low. TurnRiva mucked and was eliminated. After the hand, Stamdogg sat strongly in 2nd with 133,613 and FLYINGCBAR was in the chip leadership with 222,061. Cane3418 was left with just 17,200.
Cane3418 was next to go when his 8 low draw and straight draw failed to hit on the river against the queens of deanwinchester9. YouGotLeveled was finished in 6th place when he ran into the jack high flush with 7-low of FLYINGCBAR. Stamdogg was involved in this pot to the river and lost around half of his stack, extending FLYINGCBAR’s lead to over 370,000 chips.
FLYINGCBAR wasted little time eliminating the next player. Goldfishman7 was all in with As-8d against the 6d-7d of FLYINGCBAR. Goldfishman7 was good until the river when the 7c came to end his day in 5th place and inch FLYINGCBAR closer to 400,000.
Stamdogg would become our fourth place finisher when he put the last of his chips in with Qh-3d. Deanwinchester9 held 9h-7c. The flop would next to end the hope of Stamdogg when it fell 7h-10h-7s. The turn left Stamdogg drawing dead when the 3s fell. To add insult to injury, the river fell the case seven to give deanwinchester9 quad 7’s and send Stamdogg packing.
Three handed, FLYINGCBAR held a dominant chips lead with over 400,000 chips. Deanwinchester9 was 2nd with 106,623 and Merksick was around 50,000. Merksick was the next to go when his last chips were in during Omaha 8 or Better with Kh-Jd-9h-3c. Deanwinchester9 held Kd-10d-Qh-8s. The flop would give Deanwinchester9 top two and Merskick a straight draw. The turn and river fell low cards and Merksick did not have a low. He finished in 3rd place and took home $4,825.

This would put them nearly even, with FLYINGCBAR with the advantage. Deanwinchester9 would take the lead the next hand when he hit a straight against FLYINCBAR.
Deanwinchester9 and FLYINCBAR would trade the lead for a while but then during Razz, FLYINGCBAR would put together a string of pots where Deanwinchester9 could not complete his hand. Finally, FLYINGCBAR had him all-in with Deanwinchester9 drawing to a jack and FLYINCBAR drawing to a 10. FLYINGCBAR completed his 10 and Deanwinchester9 finished in 2nd place. He will take home $7,102.40.
