Tyresias Wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E!

This weeks edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew 178 runners. Each player put up $216 to take their shot at the $9,790 top prize. The FTOPs Main Event drew the attention of many of the Full Tilt Poker red pros. As a result only 7 red pros showed up. However, among them were bracelet winners Mike Matusow, Scott Fischman and the first man to win a WSOP bracelet outside of Las Vegas, Thomas Bihl.

Other notable names in the field were Micon, Cardsharps_Net, INTERCEPTOR, FLYINCBAR, Bryan Devonshire aka badbeatninja. Last week’s champion GymClassHero decided not to defend his title this week, so we were guaranteed a new champion.

Bill Gazes was the only Full Tilt red pro to make the money in this event. H3Budda did his best to avoid being this week’s bubble boy, but in the end he fell to the wheel of Bill Gazes in a Razz round. Other notables making the money this week included Micon, FLYINCBAR and INTERCEPTOR. Marco Johnson aka CrazyMarco started post bubble play as the chip leader, but Ram33 took the lead into the final table.

Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson took a really bad beat to become our 4th place finisher. He was all in on 4th with pair of kings against a 6-7-8-2 of Ram33. However, Ram paired his 8 on 5th, paired his 6 on 6th and caught another 8 on the river to make a full house and send Johnson to the rail.

Tyresias would take another big pot a couple of hands later to extend his chip lead. Finally, the two were entangled in a big pot that saw a lot of action on the flop turn and river. On the turn it had looked that Ram33 had either hit a flush or a wheel when he raised. The river paired the board and Tyresias bet out. Ram33 moved all-in with his jack high flush and 7-6-5-4-2 low. However, Tyresias rivered fives full of sevens and had a better low with 7-5-4-3-2. As a result, Tyresias eliminated Ram33 and became this week’s champion.

Tyresias played his game much like his avatar. He sat back and played a laid back type of game and let the other players knock each other around. He would play enough to keep himself out of any real danger and then in the end, a combination of good cards and fortunate rivers took him through to the finish. Tyresias took home the $9,790 top prize and bragging rights for the week.

Next weekend will be the final Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. before the World Series of Poker. Odds are we will either see more pros turn out to tune up before the big series or we will see a drop in players as they try and rest up for the marathon 40th Anniversary event.
