Dfunks222 wins SUNDAY Night H.O.R.S.E
This week’s edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. kicked off with 180 players logging on to take their shot at the $9,900 top prize. A strong contingent of Full Tilt Poker red pros turned out this week with 14 taking their shot at this H.O.R.S.E. title. Among those red pros in attendance were Alan Boston, Cyndy Violette, Keith Sexton, Kristy Gazes, Scott Clements, Stuart Patterson, and Thomas Bihl. Only Keith Sexton would cash out of the red pros with a 16th place finish.
Other notables that were playing the event were Ryon Nicholson aka Cardsharps_net, INTERCEPTOR, SNACKERS, Santanico, dfunks222, and Shaun Deeb aka “tedsfishfry”. Only 24 players were paid in this event with gabbyabbe finishing as the bubble boy of the event. INTERCEPTOR finished in the money, busting in 20th. Both dfunks222 and Santanico made the final table of the event.

There was a rare double elimination at the bubble which resulted in a seven handed final table. 15poWer was the short stack of the tournament and went in during razz with A-2-6. Both torden and dfunks222 made the call. By 5th, torden had a pair of sevens with a 4 showing against a Q-10-5 showing of dfunks222. Torden was short on chips and called all-in a bet from dfunks222 on 5th. Dfunks222 had 9-4 in the hole for a made queen and torden 7-2 for trip sevens and needing a miracle to pull a hand. Dfunks222 caught a ten on 6th but torden could outdraw him on 7th. Torden finished with a jack low. 15poWer started off great with A-2-6, but by the river held king high and dfunks222 knocked out two. Torden officially finished in 8th due to starting with the superior chip position.
This is how the final table kicked off:
xx1FOLDNUTS4Uxx 11,775
Crisp86 36,729
Duke of Nuke 74,167
BRO20 99,626
KnuckIe 81,136
Santanico 33,376
dfunks222 203,191
xx1FOLDNUTS4Uxx was the first eliminated from the final table. He was all in during razz on fourth with J-7-4-3 against the 9-6-A-2 of Crisp86. Crisp86 made a 9-6 low by the river and xx1FOLDNUTS4Uxx cold only muster jack high, resulting in his 7th place finish.
Santanico was down to her last last 8,000 chips during stud and put them all in on fourth with a four flush. By the river, she could only manage queen high. Amazingly, Crisp86 only managed ace high, but it was enough to send Santanico out in 6th.
BRO20 took a bad beat to end his final table. He was all in on 6th street with a buried pair of jack and dfunks222 made the call with only a pair of split nines. Dfunks222 caught a third nine on the river to send BRO20 packing in 5th.
At the first break, this is how the four remaining players stood:
dfunks222 225,281
Crisp86 174,680
KnuckIe 98,572
Duke of Nuke 41,467
KnuckIe gave most of his stack to Duke of Nuke during stud 8 and then was involved in another pot with him during the limit holdem round. KnuckIe raised pre-flop and Duke of Nuke three-bet to make it 24,000 to go. KnuckIe called and was left with just 3,420. The rest of his chips went in on a flop of Ad-9h-2s with KnuckIe holding a meager 7s-6s. Duke of Nuke held pocket tens and the lead. The turn 5c gave KnuckIe a gutshot draw but the river 7c sealed the win for Duke of Nuke and sent KnuckIe out in 4th.
At this point, dfunks222 started taking a series of pots and eventually ground Duke of Nuke down to 52,000 and Crisp86 to 16,000. Crisp86 raised pre-flop and dfunks222 three-bet to put him all-in. Crisp86 called with 9c-7c and dfunks222 held Ac-6s. An ace on the flop put dfunks222 in the lead and a turn king left crisp86 drawing dead and eliminated in 3rd place.
Heads-up was an amazingly lopsided affair with dfunks222 starting with a chip lead of 495,292 to the miniscule stack of 44,708 for Duke of Nuke. Duke of Nuke doubled up to around 80,000 and then was ground back to 23,000. He managed to get his stack back up to 36,000 but all of his chips went in pre-flop during Omaha 8 with Qs-6c-2d-3d. Dfunks222 held As-Qc-Qh-10d and the lead. A flop of Kh-8d-4h gave Duke of Nuke a low draw, but the turn Ks and river 9h gave dfunks222 kings-up and the win.

Dfunks222 is the winner of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. He started the final table with a solid chip lead and never was in any real danger during play. Ultimately he “turned on the funk” and ground his opponents to dust. Congratulations to dfunks222, Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. champion.
We will be back next weekend with another recap of the final table from this event. See you then.
