INTERCEPTOR wins another Sunday night H.O.R.S.E
Sunday Night HORSE at Full Tilt Poker kicked off this week with a good crowd of 156 players looking to take down this mixed game title. Top prize for the event was $9,360 with 16 players being paid. Only 10 Full Tilt red pros turned out for the event but all but three made it into the 2nd half of the field. Keith Sexton and Deigo Cordovez just barely missed out on a payday, finishing in 23rd and 18th places respectively. Cyndy Violette was the only red pro to make the money this week.
Cyndy Violette and INTERCEPTOR headlined the final table with INTERCEPTOR starting as chip leader. This is how the final eight started in chips:
LAWDY 83,543
hand em over 71,598
Cyndy Violette 15,557
Pokerfan X 8,930
AmazingChase 89,122
INTERCEPTOR 101,235
Vito Roma 69,078
Ozzy 87 28,937
Cyndy Violette had been bleeding chips for a while. She had around 80,000 in chips with 12 players left, but limped into the final table with just over 15k. Over half of her stack went in pre-flop during an Omaha hand that saw five players see the flop. On a Kh-4d-Qh flop, Vito Roma bet, hand em over raised, and Violette called all-in. Action was folded back to Vito Roma, who three-bet and hand em over called. Vito Roma bet out on the turn As and river 6s. At showdown, Vito Roma showed Qd-Qc-Jc-10c for broadway and hand em over mucked for the side pot. Violette then mucked for the main pot and was eliminated in 8th place.
Two hands later, four players saw a flop of Qd-5c-4c. Action was checked to AmazingChase, who bet. Ozzy 87 and hand em over both made the call. The turn fell the 2d and action was checked again to AmazingChase who again bet out. However, this time Ozzy 87 check-raised and hand em over check-three-bet. AmazingChase said screw that and got out of the way. Ozzy 87 only had 757 chips left and called the three bet all-in. Ozzy 87 held Ah-6s-7d-9d for a double gutshot and weak low. Hand em over held As-3d-4d-6c for the six high straight with wheel. The river fell the 6d to give hand em over and overkill flush with wheel and Ozzy 87 was out in 7th place.
Pokerfan X made the final table of this event for the 2nd week in a row, but again fell short of winning. However, to his credit, he did well to make it this far after starting as an uber short stack of less than 10k. Pokerfan X was all-in on 5th street during stud with queens-up. Unfortunately for him, Interceptor caught aces-up on fifth and Pokerfan X needed a lot of help. The turn and river failed to fill him up and Interceptor caught aces-full at the river to send Pokerfan X out in 6th.
A few hands later, Vito Roma three-bet all-in on 3rd during Stud. He was called by LAWDY and hand em over. Action was checked till sixth street when hand em over bet with a 10-9-8-6 showing. LAWDY folded and hand em over revealed 7-4 in the hole for a straight. Vito Roma showed a pair of jacks only and was drawing dead. Vito Roma finished the day in 5th place.
The very next hand, AmazingChase was all-in on 6th with kings up facing a pair and diamond draw from hand em over. Hand em over caught his draw on the river and AmazingChase failed to fill up. As a result, AmazingChase finished in 4th place.
The stacks were relatively even going into three-handed play with LAWDY holding the chip lead by just 2,000 chips. However, INTERCEPTOR went on a monster run that saw him run his stack up to over 330,000. Hand em over got whittled down to just 17,172 when he finally picked a hand to run with. With a five showing, he three-bet all-in and both INTERCEPTOR and LAWDY made the call. Action was checked till sixth when INTERCEPTOR led out with three clubs showing. At the river, he bet out again and LAWDY laid his hand down. INTERCEPTOR then showed a jack high flush and hand em over mucked. Hand em over finished the day in 3rd place.
Heads-up play started with INTERCEPTOR leading 383,327 to 84,673. Heads-up play lasted only eight hands. LAWDY was down to just 40,000 chips and committed the remainder of his stack on fifth street during a stud 8 hand. He held a pair of sixes and a backdoor flush and low draw. INTERCEPTOR held a pair of threes and six high straight draw. INTERCEPTOR caught a second pair on sixth and LAWDY never improved over his initial pair of sixes. LAWDY finished the day as runner-up and took home $6,240.
INTERCEPTOR has once again taken down Sunday Night HORSE. After a long absence of even cashing in the event, he makes a strong comeback to take down the title. He entered the final table as the chip leader and hovered around the lead the entire final table. When play reached three-handed, he just turned on the overdrive and caught hands as well. The combination proved overpowering and this final table was finished just four hands into the first Stud 8 round.
INTERCEPTOR took the $9,360 top prize and bragging rights until next weekend. Congratulations to INTERCEPTOR, yet again the champion of Sunday Night HORSE.
