Konelao405 wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E
This week’s edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew a smaller than average crowd of 153 players looking to take down this event. A prize pool of $30,600 was up for grabs with first place taking home $9,180.
Six Full Tilt Poker red pros turned out for the event. Jon Turner, Keith Sexton, Michael Craig, Paul Sexton, Soren Kongsgaard, and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson came out, but only Ferguson would make the money. The typical cast of characters turned out for this event including regulars Cardsharps_Net, Dim, digablemars, and SNACKERS. RamaJama was the unfortunate bubble boy of the event, finishing in 17th.
Only 16 players finished in the money this week. Chris Ferguson, Dim, SNACKERS, and digablemars were among the money finishers. Chris Ferguson headlined the final table as the chip leader. SNACKERS was also among the final table participants. Here is how the final 8 stacked up:
Sleepy_Hippo 62,646
SNACKERS 66,342
meadowlark 16,902
Chris Ferguson 95,162
maurouai2005 20,536
Boinkage 26,420
BLoXX 80,142
Boinkage was the first player eliminated from this final table. He called a raise from Chris Ferguson all-in pre-flop and BLoXX called the raise as well. Ferguson bet BLoXX out of the pot on the flop after flopping two pair. Boinkage had a low draw but it did not get there. As a result, he became the 8th place finisher.
Maurouai2005 was the next player eliminated. He three-bet pre-flop and then moved all-in on the flop with only a low draw. Sleepy_Hippo called with a weaker low draw and a pair of tens. The low never got there and Maurouai2005 headed out in 7th.
Meadowlark had most of his chips in pre-flop and on the flop. He shoved on the turn with a straight and flush draw and was behind to the pair of nines of Sleepy_Hippo. The river brought the 9h to send meadowlark home in 6th.
Sleepy_Hippo lost most of his stack during razz when BloXX made a 6-low. The very next hand, Sleepy_Hippo pushed his remaining chips with A-2-6 and was called by the 8-5-4 of konelao405. Sleepy_Hippo immediately caught a 7 to take a dominating lead over his opponents four card 8. However, razz is cruel and Sleepy_Hippo proceeded to double pair and then river a king high only. Konelao405 rivered a 9 and send Sleepy_Hippo to bed in 5th place.
BloXX was all-in on 5th during Stud 8 with a low draw only against the split jacks of konelao405. BloXX never hit a low and konelao405 improved to aces up. BloXX finished in 4th place.
SNACKERS had been the main blocker to a deal for a while and looked to be the target of the remaining players. He got his last chips in with a mediocre Omaha hand and was outflopped by konelao405. The turn left SNACKERS drawing dead and eliminated in 3rd place.
A deal was then discussed and accepted by both Chris Ferguson and konelao405. Terms of the deal are below. The two played it out for $700 and Ferguson’s bounty.
The term play it out was used very loosely. Ferguson played fast after the deal and was eliminated in 5 hands. His final hand saw him push with a pair of jacks only against a low draw and flush draw of konelao405. Koneloa405 would catch pairs on the turn and river to eliminate Chris Ferguson in 2nd place.
Konelao405 is the winner of Sunday Night HORSE. He received $8,676.36 and the $200 bounty for eliminating Chris Ferguson. Also, congratulations to Chris Ferguson on playing a fantastic tournament. We will be back next week to bring you another edition of Sunday Night HORSE.
