Yhcaep wins SUNDAY NIGHT H.O.R.S.E.
The November 29 edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. just fell shy of it’s guarantee with 147 players. The top prize for the event was $9k and 16 players were paid. Only five Full Tilt Poker red pros turned out for the event with Huck Seed finishing in 22nd for the best red pro finish.
Yuval Bronshtein aka “yuvee04″ made a deep run in this event and finished as the final table bubble boy. Former champion POCKET FIVE headlined the final table and Fitz916 entered the final table as chip leader. This is how the final eight started final table play:
POCKET FIVE 36,199
yhcaep 53,960
JustinVoid 62,756
denisonjd 47,186
ms12345 52,262
mad_rich27 47,544
fitz916 110,635
ferfer2323 30,458
Denisonjd was the first player eliminated from the final table. He was down to just 7k and put the rest of his stack in during Omaha on a flop of 9h-Qh-4c. Mad_rich27 and fitz916 made the call. The turn 10d was bet by fitz916 and called by mad_rich27. The river fell the 8c and mad_rich27 got out of the way when fitz916 bet. Fitz916 showed Js-Kc-5c-Ah for broadway and denisonjd mucked his hand.
Just two hands later, mad-rich27 was down to his last 10k and was all-in by the turn. With the board reading 5s-9d-8d-Ks, mad_rich27 showed 6s-4d-Qs-3d for two flush draws, low draw, and a gutshot straight draw. Ms12345 showed Ah-3h-Qc-Js for a better straight draw and better low draw. The river fell the 8c and ms12345 eliminated mad_rich27 with a pair of eights with an ace.
A big pot brewed between ferfer2323, POCKET FIVE, and yhcaep that resulted in two all-in’s and an elimination. Fireworks erupted on a flop of Qd-6c-Jd as the pot was capped between the three, resulting in ferfer2323 being all-in. POCKET FIVE had just 8,700 left and that all went in on the turn of the Kc. Yhcaep made the call and showed Jc-Jh-10c-8c for a set, and both a straight and flush draw. Ferfer2323 showed Ah-Qh-3c-5c for a broadway draw, and a weaker flush draw. Pocket five showed Qs-Qc-Js-9c for a set of queens, straight draw, and the nut flush draw. The river fell a harmless 7h, knocking out ferfer2323 in 6th and tripling up POCKET FIVE.
POCKET FIVE was steadily ground down until he was down to his last 10k. He put those chips in during stud with K-J-10-5 and was called by ms12345 with A-J-10-5. Ms12345 proceeded to catch a pair of aces and POCKET FIVE could not catch anything at all. POCKET FIVE finished in 5th place.
Play continued for another three hands and ms12345 managed to work her way up to around 88k. Fitz916 was sitting on 124k, JustinVoid on 123k and yhcaep on 104k. The four players then decided to discuss a deal. The four decided to play for an extra $400 but the rest of the money was split up as follows:
fitz916 $5,534.73
JustinVoid $5,514.85
yhcaep $5,166.45
ms12345 $4,833.97
Although very little was left to play for, this final table went another 135 hands. Fitz916 was eliminated in fourth. He was all-in on 6th street during Stud 8 with trip 10’s and a broadway draw against a flush of ms12345. Fitz916 was unable to fill up and busted out in 4th.
A few hands later, ms12345 was eliminated during Holdem after pushing a 7-3-2 flop with K-9. Yhcaep held J-7 for top pair and top pair was good enough to take the match to heads-up.
Heads-up play started with yhcaep holding a 249k to 191k chip lead over JustinVoid. Play continued through Omaha and into Razz with yhcaep grinding JustinVoid down. The final hand saw JustinVoid all-in on fifth street with a made nine with a redraw to a six. Yhcaep held a queen with a redraw to a seven. By the river, both players had made a seven, but yhcaep held 7-6-5-3-A, outpipping JustinVoid’s 7-6-5-4-2. Yhcaep took the pot and is this weeks Sunday Night HORSE champion.
Yhcaep entered the final table as one of the middle stack and hung around and picked his spots. After a deal was struck, he was able to go on a rush and came out on top as champion. He took home $5,395.78 and bragging rights until next weekend.
