We Are Wolves wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.
The February 7th edition of Full Tilt Poker Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew another anemic crowd of only 119, creating another huge overlay for players. First prize as always was $9,000 with 16 paid. Only six Full Tilt pros turned out for the event, but 1/3rd of them made the money.
Esther Rossi finished in 13th and Scott Fischman made the final table.
Of note among the money finishers were former champion 7cardRyoff who finished in 11th place. Scott Fischman, TurnRiva, and We Are Wolves all returned to the final table. Each were looking to take down their first Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. title. However, it was motion713 that would enter the final table as chip leader. Here is how the final eight stacked up to start final table play:
msueagles40 11,246
TurnRiva 77,487
DanielCantera 5,862
paulgees81 67,426
Scott Fischman 23,032
motion713 105,563
We Are Wolves 55,042
philmcgill 11,342
DanielCantera was the first player eliminated from the final table. He was all-in pre-flop during Omaha and called by philmcgill and paulgees81. On a flop of Qc-6h-3c, philmcgill was all-in as well. Philmcgill held As-Ad-9s-3h for aces. DanielCantera held Ac-2c-2h-Qs for queens with nut low draw and paulgees81 held Ah-7h-4d-Kc for a gutshot draw and weak low draw. The turn and river failed to bring a low and philmcgill scooped Daniel Cantera out in 8th.
Paulgees81 and Scott Fischman do not apparently like each other. The two started some very heated digging back and forth with paulgees81 claiming that Fischman was a has been and wanted to play him heads-up in NL. Fischman wanted to play him heads-up in either H.O.R.S.E. or 7-Game because paulgees81 “sucks” at the game. It was paulgees81 that got the last laugh as Fischman went all-in with Ad-Qd-8c-2h and was called by the Qs-Js-7h-4h of msueagles40. Fischman picked up a low draw on the flop and straight draw on the turn. Msueagles40 picked up a flush draw on the flop. The river made Fischman his straight but it also completed msueagles40’s flush, sending Fischman out in 7th. Paulgees was all to happy to past the following as one final dig:
paulgees81: Dealer: Scott Fischman finishes in 7th place and wins: $900
Philmcgill was all-in on fourth street during stud with buried nines. Unfortunately, he ran into aces-up from paulgees81. Philmcgill could not catch a third nine and he was out in 6th.
Motion713 was all-in on sixth street during stud 8. Both We Are Wolves and TurnRiva called along. On the river We Are Wolves bet TurnRiva out of the pot. He showed broadway and motion713 mucked and hit the rail in 5th.
Paulgees81 was the next to fall during stud 8. He was all-in on fourth street with a pair of threes and three cards to a low. We Are Wolves had eights with a three card low draw of his own.

Both players improved to two pair, but paulgees81 only improved to fives-up. We Are Wolves’ eights-up held up and paulgees81 finished in 4th.
TurnRiva was the third player to fall during Stud 8. He put the last of his chips in on fourth street with a ten and three cards to a wheel. Msueagles40 called with A-7-6-3. Msueagles40 hit his low on fifth and made a pair of sevens on the river.

TurnRiva finished with jack-high and went out in 3rd.
Heads-up play seemed a formality at the start with We Are Wolves up 317,662 to the 39,338 of msueagles40. Msueagles40 then went on an amazing run and actually had We Are Wolves on the ropes with just 70k in chips. The two battled for a total of 87 hands. We Are Wolves had the upper hand with a 2 to 1 chip lead going into the final hand during Razz. With the betting at 12k and 24k, msueagles40 had exactly one hand worth of chips. We Are Wolves bet all the way to the river. On the river, he bet with a board of J-3-J-A and msueagles40 went all-in with a board of 10-J-A-Q. We Are Wolves called and showed 8-5-4 in the hole for a miracle 8-low. Msueagles40 had better hole cards with 6-5-2, but his board cards gave him a ten-low at best. As a result, msueagles40 was out in 2nd and We Are Wolves is our champion.
We Are Wolves had a tough road to hoe entering the final table. However, he hung tough and withstood a strong heads-up challenge from msueagles40 to take his first Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. title in only his 2nd appearance at the final table. He took home $9,000 and bragging rights until next week.
