Loldazzlements wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.
The Zombie Jesus day edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew 139 players looking to take their shot at the $30,000 prize pool. Since the guarantee was not met this week, only 16 players were paid with $9,000 going to first.
Three Full Tilt Poker red pros went deep in this week’s edition. Vitaly Lunkin was the unfortunate bubble boy, finishing in 17th place. Cyndy Violette continues her strong showings in this event, finishing this week in 15th. S. Gromenkova finished the event in 14th place. Others making the money but falling short of the final table were Pokerfan X in 13th place and LunisticTweak in 10th.
One of the final table participants commented that the final table was one of the softest finals in recent history. That is saying a lot considering the final consisted of former champion digablemars and other former final table participants Tapp that Ace, thehoffix, and TurnRiva. Twelver 1232 entered the final table as chip leader. This is how the final eight started final table action:
loldazzlements 34,549
Kaluminati 34,232
TurnRiva 51,465
digablemars 56,881
thehoffix 17,632
twelver 1232 144,919
GodlikeRoy 51,726
Tapp that Ace 25,596
Thehoffix was the first player eliminated from the final table. he was all-in on fourth street of Razz against both twelver 1232 and digablemars. Digablemars bet out twelver 1232 on sixth and revealed an eight low with redraw to wheel. Thehoffix was drawing dead as he held a nine low with redraw to eight. Thehoffix finished in 8th place.
Two hands later, Kaluminati was all-in on third street with 7-3-A. He received calls from Twelver 1232 and digablemars. This time it was twelver 1232 that was heads-up with the all-in player. Twelver 1232 made a jack by fifth and never improved. It did not matter as Kaluminati had a king on fifth and only improved to a queen. Kaluminati was out in 7th.
The Razz round claimed its third victim in Tapp that Ace. With only 2,344 before the hand, he was all-in for less than the completion with A-2-J against the K-4-2 of GodlikeRoy. Tapp that Ace kept pairing and finished with a king. GodlikeRoy made a jack on sixth and that was enough to take us down to five players.
Twelver 1232 was down to his last 24k during Stud and went to war on fifth street with a pair of threes. He was called by GodlikeRoy with a pair of eights. Neither player improved and twelver 1232 was out in 5th place.
Down to just 13k in the Stud round, digablemars put all his chips at risk with three spades. Loldazzlements made the call with buried deuces. Digablemars caught a pair of tens on fourth to take the lead and a fourth spade on fifth. He looked to double up when he caught tens-up on the river, but loldazzlements caught a third deuce to send the former champion out in 4th place.
Going into three handed play, TurnRiva had a tough road to hoe with only 40k in chips. During the Stud 8 round, he put his stack at risk on fifth street with just a pair of fours and backdoor low draw against the buried tens and backdoor flush draw of loldazzlements. TurnRiva failed to improve and loldazzlements made queens-up by the river. TurnRiva finished in 3rd.
Heads-up play started with GodlikeRoy with 235,858 against the 181,142 of loldazzlements. Loldazzlements turned the tide and took the chip lead during Stud 8. He then extended his lead in Holdem when his rivered a gutter ball straight draw to leave GodlikeRoy in near desperation mode. GodlikeRoy made a small comeback, but another gutter ball draw came through to leave GodlikeRoy nearly crippled. He then proceeded GodlikeRoy when he hit runner-runner two pair with 6-8.
With just 14,858, GodlikeRoy put his stack at risk pre-flop with pocket fives. Loldazzlements called with 10d-4d. As was customary for this heads-up session, loldazzlements sucked out again and hit a ten on the flop. GodlikeRoy picked up a straight draw on the turn, but he was unable to pull out his own suckout and loldazzlements became the champion.
Loldazzlements came back from the third shortest stack to take down this event and $9,000. GodlikeRoy failed to “run like God” heads-up and learned the hard way that all the skill doesn’t matter when someone is catching cards.
