Nuttynutt wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.
The March 7th edition of Full Tilt Poker Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew a crowd of 163 HORSE aficionados looking to take this weekly title and the $8,965 top prize. Among the Full Tilt red pros in attendance were Cyndy Violette, Esther Rossi, Paul Sexton, and Scott Clements. The only red pro to make the money was WSOP HORSE bracelet winner Jens Voertmann who finished in 16th place.
Other notable players that finished in the money were former champion SNACKERS who squeaked into the money in 24th place. JBonus1 finished in 21st. Tengiz1313 hit the rail in 15th and Cal-Nik-2 finished in 11th. The final table was a new cast of characters with OnlyPlayRagz entering the final table as chip leader. This is how the final eight players stacked up:
meatball20 53,634
areastm_19 46,549
Salamandar3 65,725
OnlyPlayRagz 96,790
JD_Upper 37,478
RyJS 72,594
Teambass 54,308
nuttynutt 61,922
Salamandar3 was the first player eliminated. He was all-in during Omaha Eight for just a bit more than the big blind. Four players called and OnlyPlayRagz bet out on the flop and turn. The board was Qd-8h-8h-2d when the Jd hit the river. This time OnlyPlayRagz checked and areastm_19 bet out. OnlyPlayRagz made the call and areastm_19 showed Ad-Ah-Jh-9d for the nut flush. OnlyPlayRagz mucked and Salamandar3 did as well. Salamandar3 finished in 8th place.
RyJS was down to his last 3k and put it all-in UTG during Omaha. Four players called and on a flop of 7h-3h-3c, JD_Upper bet out. Two players called and he again bet the turn of the Js. This time only areastm_19 made the call. The river fell the 3s and JD_Upper bet again. Areastm_19 made the call but mucked when JD_Upper showed Ac-5d-5s-3d for quad threes. RyJS mucked as well and hit the rail in 7th.
Meatball20 was the next knocked out. He got into a mini-raising war with nuttynutt on fifth street and the result was meatball20 being all-in with a pair of jacks and a backdoor low draw. Nuttynutt had a pair of queens and a better backdoor low draw. Meatball20 failed to improve so nuttynutt’s queens-up by the river proved to be overkill. Meatball20 finished in 6th.
OnlyPlayRagz was down to 41,682 by the start of Holdem. With betting of 8k and 16k, he decided to go to war. He bet out and was raised by Teambass on a flop of 9c-5h-4d. He called and was all-in on the turn when it fell the 3h. Teambass held As-5s for a pair of fives and OnlyPlayRagz had just that with Js-10c. The river fell the Ks, and we were down to four.
Teambass was crippled a couple of hands later when JD_Upper turned a queen-high straight. Teambass was left with just over 27k and decided to put it all-in pre-flop with Qh-8h. Unfortunately for him, nuttynutt woke up with queens. By the turn, Teambass had a flush draw, but the flush failed to come. As a result, Teambass headed out in 4th.
Nuttynutt started three-handed play as the chip leader, with JD_Upper trailing right behind and areastm_19 third but still with over 100k in chips. With betting of 8k and 16k, the three decided to look at the numbers and eventually the three decided to chop it up according to stack and end the tournament. As a result, Nuttynutt is officially this week’s winner. He took home $6,696.24 and bragging rights. One really cannot blame these three for taking the deal. With neither player above 11 big bets, it really was a crapshoot.
Nuttynutt is this week’s champ and has the proverbial bragging rights until next week.
