LunisticTweak Takes down Full Tilt Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.
April 25th brought yet another edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. on Full Tilt Poker. This time 139 players turned out to take their shot at the weekly $30,000 prize pool. Sixteen players were paid and $9,000 was to go to the winner.
The red pros had nine representatives including Artie Cobb, Paul Sexton, and Esther Rossi. The only one to get close to the money was Eshter Rossi who finished just shy in the money in 18th place. Among the notables that made the money in this event but fell short of the final table were grrrrmonsta in 14th, SamENole in 13th, and 7cardRyoff in 12th.
Dainiux entered the final table as the chip leader. This is how the final eight players stacked up to start final table play:
JustinVold 32,362
Dainiux 141,572
LunisticTweak 54,760
Kocherov 35,635
ChipAccumulator 3,804
hmiester 76,116
jiggaman3 38,237
TorontoToro 34,514
You would think that with just 3,800 in chips that ChipAccumulator would have been the first person to go out. That was not the case as he survived several all-ins and actually moved up to about 6th in chips at one point. It was actually jiggaman3 that was the first eliminated. He called a raise pre-flop during Omaha and check-called a bet on a K-9-2 flop. The turn fell the 6s and he then check-raised Kocherov to go all-in. Kocherov called showing A-K-6-5, all clubs, for two pair and low draw. Jiggaman3 showed 7s-4h-3h-2h for bottom pair and straight draw. The river fell the Jd and jiggaman3 was out in 8th.
We had a rare double elimination at the final table to knock out both ChipAccumulator and TorontoToro. Dainiux raised pre-flop to 6k and ChipAccumulator re-raised to 9k. TorontoToro only had 4,728 left after the small blind and he went all-in. Dainiux called and we saw a flop of Jh-4d-3d. Dainiux then check-raised a bet from ChipAccumulator. The turn fell the 10d and ChipAccumulator just called a 6k bet from Dainiux. The river fell the Kh and Daniux bet 6k. ChipAccumulator had just 1,248 left and called. Dainiux showed Ac-10s-5d-6d for a weak flush. ChipAccumulator mucked for the side pot and TorontoToro mucked for the main. Since ChipAccumulator had more chips, he finished in 6th place and TorontoToro in 7th. Considering that ChipAccumulator started with only 3,804 to start the final table, 6th place is pretty strong.
Hmiester was down to just 7,762 during Razz and called all-in a raise on third from Dainiux. Hmiester held 7-4-3 and was behind to the 7-3-2 of Dainiux. Fourth put him hmiester further behind when Dainiux caught an ace for a draw to a perfect seven and hmiester caught a five for a draw to a 7-5. By the river, Dainiux finished with an eight and hmiester could only improve to a 9 low. Hmiester finished in 5th place.
LunisticTweak then went on a bit of a run during Stud 8 to take the chip lead. He first outdrew rolled up sixes from Kocherov and then later he filled up against rolled up sevens from JustinVold. This gave him a chip lead that he held onto for most of the rest of the game. JustinVold finished in fourth when he decided to go to war with Q-10 against the A-J of Dainiux. Dainiux flopped top pair and JustinVold flopped middle pair and gutshot straight draw. The turn gave him outs to a flush as well. The river fell a bland and we were down to three.
Dainiux held the chip lead again for a while but then slowly lost it back to LunisticTweak. Then during Omaha he continued his freefall until he was all-in with 10d-4d-5s-4s facing the As-4h-7d-Kd of Kocherov. Kocherov flopped two pair and a four never came for Dainiux. Dainiux finished in 3rd.
LunisticTweak started heads-up play with a 297,185 to 119,815 lead over Kocherov. The lead would go back and forth for a while but LunisticTweak would take over during Razz. After taking a couple of massive pots, he ground down Kocherov until he decided to go to war with Q-5-A. LunisticTweak countered with 8-6-2 and they were off to the races. It was over with by fifth as LunisticTweak held a ten low and Kocherov held a pair of queens with a redraw to a queen low. LunisticTweak would make an eight low on sixth for overkill and as such became Sunday Night HORSE champion.

LunisticTweak went on a great run of cards at the right time to take down the title and $9,000. When you can overcome two rolled up sets in the span of a few minutes, it is your night. This was LunisticTweak’s second final table appearance and this time he walks away the champion. Congratulations.
