Dboy23 wins his first Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.

The December 12th edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. just fell shy of its guarantee with 147 players. As usual, 16 players were paid, and first took home $9,000. Several red pros played in this event, but none cashed. Lacey Jones and John Cernuto were the high pros of the event. Jones finished in 22nd and Cernuto in 20th.

Former champion o Shakespear o was the bubbly boy for the event. Among those in the money but falling short of the final table were neversleeping in 14th, kwob20 in 12th, and elanor in 9th. Dsindy made yet another final table in this event and is still looking for his first win in Sunday Night HORSE. He started the final table as the chip leader. Others making a return appearance to the final table were Muckyourface, dfunks222, and dboy23. Here is how the final eight players started final table play:

DRSICK 24,952

Demetrius 90,021

Muckyourface 20,120

Dboy23 52,053

Patwright 39,772

Dsindy 99,498

Dfunks222 71,142

Kuroshi 43,442

We lost two players in one hand to kick off eliminations. First, Kuroshi was down to 3,716 during Razz and was all-in for a completion. DRSICK then put in most of his stack with a 2 after he and demetrius capped the betting on 3rd. Showing A-2 on 4th, DRSICK bet out and demetrius raised with A-8 to put him all-in. DRSICK made the call and showed 7-6-2-A. Demetrius showed 8-4-3-A and Kuroshi held 10-4-3-2. DRSICK couldn’t catch anything lower than a nine for the remainder of his hand to finish with a nine. Kuroshi double paired before catching a ten on the river. Demetrius caught a seven on sixth street to make an eight and knocked out Kuroshi in 8th place and DRSICK in 7th place.

The very next hand, muckyourface put in his last 15,380 in 3rd street with 7-2-A after he and dboy23 got into a raising war. Dboy23 held 8-5-A and they were off to the races. On sixth, dboy23 had a J-8 low to lead the J-10 low of muck your face, but muckyourface had an outdraw chance. He hit his chance when an eight hit the river to give him a 10-8 low. Unfortunately, dboy23 also hit when a nine on the river gave him a 9-8. As such, muckyourface was out in 6th place.

Dfunks222 had his remaining 13k in on third street of stud against both demetrius and dboy23. Dboy23 bet out demetrius on 5th and turned over split aces. Dfunks222 held just split kings and needed help. Dfunks222 would not receive help and dboy23 made aces-up by the river. Dfunks222 made another strong run in this event, this time finishing in 5th place.

Play then continued four-handed for quite a while. Amazingly, no deal was brokered and dboy23 proceeded to build a monster chip lead. During Texas Holdem, dsindy was down to 3,898, which happened to be less than half the big blind. He moved all-in and dboy23 and patwright saw a flop. They both checked the flop of Ac-7s-10 and the turn 2h. On the river Ks, dboy23 bet out and patwright folded. Dboy23 showed Qs-Jh for broadway and dsindy was out in 4th.

The very next hand, demetrius and dboy23 capped the betting pre-flop. This resulted in demetrius being all-in with As-4c against the Qs-7c of dboy23. A queen on the flop left demetrius needing an ace to win. An ace never came and we were heads-up.

Dboy23 started heads-up play with over a 7 to 1 chip lead with 381,678 against the 59,322 of patwright. Patwright would get a full double up to 118k, but that is as far as he would get. The final hand came in Omaha. Patwright raised to 20k and dboy23 made the call pre-flop and both saw a flop of Ks-8c-6h. Dboy23 checked to patwright, who bet out. Dboy23 then check-raised to 20k, and patwright made the call all-in for his last 8,644. Dboy23 held Kc-10d-4h-d for top pair and a low draw. Patwright held As-Qd-8d-5c for middle pair and weaker low draw. The turn 9d gave patwright outs for a straight, but the river Kd gave dboy23 trip kings and the victory.

Dboy23 wins his first Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. title and $9,000 in prize money. Instead of making a deal as many tend to, he chose instead to grind a huge chip lead and pick off his final three players when they were vulnerable. Congratulations.

SNACKERS has won yet another Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. title

The November 14th edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. exceeded its guarantee for the first time in a while with 164 runners looking to take down the weekly mixed game title. 24 players would walk away with a payday from this one with first taking home $9,020.

Dsindy was the unfortunate bubble boy of this event, finishing in 25th place. Lacey Jones made her first cash in Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. with a 21st place finish. BrandonPL finished in 19th. Micon rode a short stack for quite a while before finishing in 13th. Chip Jett was knocked out in a double elimination hand to finish in 11th place.

This final table turned out to be a stacked one. SNACKERS, kice32, zeoprincess, and Ponga80 all returned to the final table. SNACKERS started the final table with the chip lead and was looking for yet another Sunday Night HORSE title. Here is how the final table started in chips

Final table 11-14-2010

SNACKERS 119,624

Kice32 115,861

The Ice Captain 61,018

Zeoprincess 54,931

Ponga80 25,028

LastOne323 30,551

PokerGPScom 67,899

Puffypoker 17,088

Puffypoker started the final table as the short stack and it only took three hands for him to get his stack in play. At the turn during Texas Holdem, the board read 7h-7c-8h-6h and LastOne323 bet out to put puffypoker all-in. He called and was ahead with Ad-Qc. LastOne323 held Ah-9d for both an open-ended straight draw and nut flush draw. The river fell the Kh to complete LastOne323’s flush, and puffypoker was out in 8th.

Ponga80 7th

Pongo80 was all-in on the flop during Omaha against both PokerGPScom and The Ice Captain. By the river, the board was 2-7-4-10-7 and PokerGPScom showed A-3-5-8 for the nut low. The Ice Captain showed A-2-K-K for two pair. Pongo80 couldn’t beat either hand and was out in 7th.

zeoprincess 6th

Zeoprincess was all-in the very next hand against LastOne323, The Ice Captain, and kice32. On the turn, the board read Jd-2s-Qd-Kc and LastOne323 raised all-in after The Ice Captain bet out. Kice32 folded and The Ice Captain called with Kh-9h-Qs-Js for two pair and gutshot draw. LastOne323 held A-2-3-10 for a turned broadway and zeoprincess held Ad-4d-5c-9c for the nut flush draw. The river fell the 3s and LastOne323 scooped to send zeoprincess out in 6th.

kice32 5th

Kice32 was all-in on 5th street during stud with buried tens with a backdoor flush draw. LastOne323 made the call with aces-up. Kice32 never improved his hand and was out in 5th place.

With four players left, a deal was struck to give each player $5,000. Here are the details per the chat box:

Dealer: The tournament deal was made successfully.

Dealer: SNACKERS was awarded $5,000 from the deal.

Dealer: The Ice Captain was awarded $5,000 from the deal.

Dealer: LastOne323 was awarded $5,000 from the deal.

Dealer: PokerGPScom was awarded $5,000 from the deal.

LastOne323 4th

The players left a little money to play for. 3rd would get 232.74, 2nd 537.90, and 1st would get $1,008.56. This meant that one player would go out with no additional money. That person would be LastOne323. He got the last of his chips in on 6th street with ace high and an eight low draw. Unfortunately for him, he had to make a low in order to have a shot as The Ice Captain had a jack high flush and a draw to a seven. LastOne323 missed his low on the river, and it wound up not mattering as The Ice Captain made a seven low. LastOne323 was out in 4th.

PokerGPScom 3rd

On a flop of Jh-Js-10c, PokerGPScom got the last of his chips in with Kc-4d. SNACKERS called with Kh-9d for a straight draw. The turn and river missed both players and the 9 of SNACKERS was enough to take us to heads-up play.

Going into heads-up play, SNACKERS led 271,737 to the 220,263 of The Ice Captain. Play went back and forth for a while before SNACKERS made a hero call with a ten-five low in Razz to win a huge pot to turn the tide. The final hand occurred during Stud. The Ice Captain was down to just 5,763 chips by fifth street and SNACKERS caught open queens and bet 30k. The Ice Captain made the call to reveal a pair of kings. SNACKERS had trip queens at this point. On sixth, The Ice Captain caught an open ended straight draw, but he missed his draw and a king on the river to give SNACKERS the title.

SNACKERS has won yet another Sunday Night HORSE title. He takes home $6,008.56 total after adjusting for the deal. Congratulations.

wizfromoz wins Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E.

The Halloween edition of Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. drew out 135 ghouls to take their shot at $9,000 in prize money. Scott Fishman, Jon Turner, and Scott Clements were among the Full Tilt red pros that played in this event.

Paulgees81 was the unfortunate bubble boy this week, finishing in 17th place. FOsubliminaLD, and TurnRiva both made the money but fell short of the final table. They finished 14th and 12th respectively. Scott Clements and former champion NestOfSalt headlined the final table. Pool_shark_10 was the chip leader heading into final table play. Here are how the stacks looked at the beginning of play:

Final Table - 10-31

Yeshua_Won 22,039

NestOfSalt 50,755

p00cket00 23,462

MrSmokey1 27,096

pool_shark_10 105,469

wizfromoz 76,584

Scott Clements 37,162

C DerF 62,433

Scott Clements out in 8th

Scott Clements was the first player eliminated from the final table. After losing a sizable pot in Razz to pool_shark_10, he was all-in with A-2-5 against the 8-6-4 of Yeshua_Won. Yeshua_Won caught an eight by fifth, and Clements had a pair of fives and needed running cards to make a better low. A queen on sixth left him drawing dead and out in 8th place.

NestOfSalt out in 7th

Two hands later we lost our other headliner. Down to just 6,500, NestOfSalt moved all-in with A-4-J and Yeshua_Won woke up with A-4-5. Again, he and eight by fifth and NestOfSalt had a made jack. He needed running cards to win. He paired on sixth and was drawing dead. NestOfSalt finished in 7th place. At this point Yeshua_Wn was about 4th in chips with 44k. This isn’t normally newsworthy, but he started the final as the short stack and was down to less than 5k at one point. Quite a comeback.

Yeshua_won out in 6th

The comeback was short lived unfortunately. After doubling up MrSmokey1 a couple of times, he put his last 15k at risk with split aces during stud. Wizfromoz called with buried kings and it was off to the races. Wizfromoz caught two pair on fifth and then kings full on sixth to win the race and knock Yeshua_Won out in 6th place.

MrSmokey1 out in 5th

The next hand, MrSmokey1 was all in on fifth with a pair of nines and a gutshot straight draw. Pool_shark_10 made the call with queens-up. MrSmokey1 caught his straight on the river, but pool_shark_10 caught queens full, sending MrSmokey1 out in 5th.

p00cket00 4th

The bad beat of the night resulted in p00cket00’s elimination. On sixth street, the pot sat at 64,000. Pool_shark_10 was showing three eights and bet out. P00cket00 was showing open aces and raised. Pool_shark_10 three-bet and p00cket00 called-all-in. P00cket00 had caught aces full of deuces on fifth street, but unfortunately for him, pool_shark_10 caught quad eights on sixth. Only the case ace would win p00cket00 the pot. The river fell the Qc and we were down to three players. Pool_shark_10 now had a seemingly insurmountable lead of 309k vs. 66k for C Derf vs. 29k for wizofoz.

pool_shark_10 out in 3rd

We say seemingly because C Derf went on a bit of a run and pool_shark_10 couldn’t win a pot. Quickly, the script was changed and C Derf had nearly 270k in chips to the 50k for wizfromoz, and pool_shark_10 had dropped all the way to 40k. He then slipped down to 30k and woke up with A-2-4-5 with the 4-5 suited in Omaha. Wizfromoz made the call with A-3-8-J with A-3 of clubs. The board ran 6-4-2-6-A to give both aces up. Wizfromoz had the nut low and his jack played to give him the high and we were heads-up.

At the start of heads-up play, C Derf held a 314k to 90k chip lead over wizfromoz. One big pot that didn’t even go to showdown put them back to event. C Derf offered an even chop for 7k each, but wizfromoz wanted the outright win, so they played on. Wizfromoz then began to take pot after pot and eventually C Derf was down just just under 40k. That all went in pre-flop with 2s-3c-6d-7s. Wizfromoz called with Qd-4d-Jh-7c. The flop fell Ad-10d-Qh to give wizfromoz the lead. The 2d locked up high for the wiz, but a non-pairing low card other than a three would give C Derf a chop. The river fell another deuce and it was all over.

Wizfromoz wins Sunday Night HORSE

Wizfromoz started this final table 2nd in chips and never made a lot of noise at any point of the final. He hung in there and when we got heads-up, he found the mojo he needed to come back and take the title. He wanted first place, and he got just that. Congratulations to wizfromoz, this week’s Sunday Night H.O.R.S.E. champion.
